This my first attempt at making a spherical panorama. I used Autodesk StitcherUnlimited 2009, Sony a700 at 16mm (24 full frame), and a regular tripod head (worst one to use btw). Now that I’m back in Japan I’ll use my a900 which will give me true 16mm and higher resolution.

That software is really nice to use. It turned my bad photos and alignments into something workable that looks pretty damn good for a first time job. I didn’t take but 10 min on the photos.

This one is of a typical backyard in Southern California. I wanted to remind myself and my daughter of the backyards that just don’t exist in Japan. It’s only a 9meg file and low quality. I have one that went to 80meg.

They have tons of new attractions under construction at California Adventure. The lake is drained and work is being done on a new water and light show due for release sometime in 2010. The other new rides are due 2011.

Disneyland had a (new to me) photo that you can email for free after the ride.

I was lucky to meet up with a very good and well known landscape photographer named Bill Wight from Rancho Cucamonga, California. We went up in Mt. Baldy Ice House Canyon to practice some shots.

I won’t be able to properly post process until I use my home computer back in Japan and I will need to merge various exposures to get the dynamic range in check but I’m posting one from today anyway.

You can check out Bill’s photos here on Flickr – Bill Wight Photography.
